Assignment 1 This step is to create a DEMOGRAPHIC SUMMARY TABLE. Excel sheet is provided and you follow these steps. Use your SAS technical skills to create table. There are main two parts to create table - A and B. However, to complete Project 1-1, please complete all A, B, C part. Set up environment: Import provided excel sheet into SAS using PROC IMPORT procedure. Part: A- Get only frequency data in table: Create frequency table. Step 1: Select records and variable. Select the records with ITTFL eq Y. This is population selection. Select using Keep/drop statements only variable needed. Step 2: Calculate Frequency of given variables by treatment. Use PROC FREQ procedure to get Frequency of records in each category for each given variable. Get dataset with frequency of variable's value using OUT= option in TABLE statement. Variables: SEX, RACE, ETHNIC, COUNTRY - By treatment Rename variable (SEX, RACE, ETHNIC, COUNTRY) name to VAR (or something other you like) in output dataset. Step 3: Transpose the datasets. Use procedure PROC TRANSPOSE for datasets created using proc freq. Use treatment variable in ID and name of variable in BY and FREQ in VAR statement. Step 4: Stack them. Stack all the datasets. Step 5: Calculate percentages. a. Get count of Number of subjects in each treatment in one dataset. b. Create macro variables using Call Symput or PROC SQL. C. Use those macro variables to calculate percentage in new variable. d. Create a variable with Count and percentage like xx (xx.x) format. Step 5 Print the dataset using proc print Step 6 create cosmetically nice report using proc report. Step: B-: Update existing table with descriptive statistics In above table add descriptive statistics for AGE like n, mean, median, STD, Q1, Q3 etc. Create frequêncy table part + descriptive statistic of mock table in appendix 1 (whole table). Step 7: Calculate descriptive statistics. Using PROC MEANS or PROC SUMMARY or PROC UNIVARIATE for variable AGE and PItent (Baseline Platelet count), get n, mean, median, STD, Q1, Q3 statistics. Step 8: Arrange data in a form: Arrange data in form they are needed in table using data step. Step 9: Stack them. Stack all the datasets. Step 10: Calculate percentages. a. Get count of Number of subjects in each treatment in one dataset. b. Create macro variables using Call Symput or PROC SQL. C. Use those macro variables to calculate percentage in new variable. d.
