3. In recent years, student performance in mathematics tests has been a concern. Please
analyze and summarise the association between student math performance and math attitudes.
4. Ontario is the preferred province of residence for a sizable proportion of new immigrants to
Canada. The first language spoken at home for most new immigrants is not English or French and may act as an impediment to effective student learning and their performances. Using the variables provided in the data files, please analyze, summarise, and present your findings to answer the following questions:
a. What is the association between student performance in reading and writing tests and first
language spoken/learned at home?
b. What are the differences in student performance in reading, writing and math between
those born and not born in Canada? Does the length of time in Canada have any bearing
on student performance for those who were not born in Canada?
