Branches of Chemistry
Chemistry is divided into several branches which include:
- Analytical Chemistry: This branch of Chemistry deals with the identification, quantification, and separation of different substances. It focuses on the analysis of chemical compounds to determine their composition and structure.
- Organic Chemistry: This branch deals with the study of compounds containing carbon. It explores the synthesis, properties, and reactions of these compounds and how they interact with other molecules.
- Biochemistry: This branch focuses on the chemical processes occurring inside living organisms. It also examines the interactions between different biochemical compounds and their effects on each other.
- Inorganic Chemistry: Inorganic Chemistry deals with the study of non-living substances such as metals, minerals, and salts. It involves the synthesis, structure, and reactivity of these compounds.
- Electrochemistry: This branch of chemistry deals with the study of chemical and electrical processes. Electrochemistry explores the relationship between electricity and chemical reactions, as well as how these reactions can be used in industrial applications.
